The Mozart Magic Cube

Max is completely and utterly obsessed with this toy. It was a baby gift for Dylan, so it is now over four years old, but it still works perfectly. It is also wonderful at promoting interaction between the two kids. Dylan loves entertaining Max by pushing the various buttons and talking to him about the music.

Trebimbi Cutlery

Trebimbi_1 This cute cutlery set was recently featured on Babygadget, and I have to agree with their recommendation. Dylan has the hot pink set. It was a gift from my mom and she loves them. They fit together (like legos) and they double as finger puppets. My favorite thing about this set, though, is the fact that it includes a knife. Dylan is very interested in helping me cook. She likes to cut her own food, and she uses a real glass, and a ceramic plate (Villeroy & Boch as a matter of fact). This is all very Montessori. At her school, the kids use real glasses as young as two. The philosophy behind this is that kids will only learn proper behavior and comportment by using things that require care. We are nearing the end of her third year in Montessori, and I have to say that the philosophy is spot on. Dylan is very self-sufficient. I love it. The cutlery set can be purchased at Monster Marketplace. It is $15.99.

Thank You Bumbo!!

  Big Sister Reading

Little Max is at work with me today. Our sitter cancelled, and he's still wheezing too much to go to the drop-in day care. He needs breathing treatments every three to four hours, and I didn't think they'd go for that!

But, anyway, I don't know what I'd do without this Bumbo seat!! It's the greatest thing ever, because he can sit up and play with his toys without:

  1. Rolling Away
  2. Tipping over backwards and nearly breaking his skull (yes, this happened this morning in the swing. bye bye swing)
  3. Needing my help

I LOVE my Bumbo. He sits in it on the counter every evening while I cook, and every morning while I get Dylie ready for school.

So, thank you Bumbo - thanks to you, I can be at work writing in my blog (and doing real work too of course).
