This is how crazy I look while running
Those of you who are friends with me on Facebook or follow me on Twitter know that I completed my 20 mile training run on Sunday. This will be the longest run I complete prior to the marathon on 10/10/10. Eek!
I was actually very thrilled with how good I felt (relatively speaking - I certainly wasn't skipping or laughing the whole way) and how well I ran. I averaged a 10:23 pace which is really good for me.
In related news, I'm now over 60% of the way to my goal of raising $1,000 for the Healthy Schools Campaign. If you'd like to support me, please click here. Every dollar helps!
And now the photo. This is about 16 miles in. Michael ran with me the whole way, which actually ended up being great. He was incredibly supportive, and those bright tattoo arm sleeves were very cheery. The best motivational thing he said to me during the run came at about mile 18. He said, "Just keep at it. It's supposed to hurt." For some reason, that was helpful to me. I guess I really HAVE become a nutball athlete.
