When my colleague and I arrived at the Hotel Amarano, we were told that a large party of guests refused to leave. So there was no room for us. I'm sure that part of this is due to the fact that we were to be staying on a discounted Expedia rate. Regardless, it SUCKS. They paid for us to go to this Marriot, but seriously? It's not my money. I'm traveling on business, so you paying for my hotel room DOESN'T MAKE ME FEEL BETTER. We tried to argue. We tried to refuse. The personnel at the Hotel Amarano in Burbank wouldn't budge. They insisted that this airport Marriot was very nice (not so much) and newly renovated (um... still in progress).
Tip to the Hotel Amarano. If you have to bump your guests? Bump them to a nicer hotel. I'm just furious right now. And poor Yaelle, who is 6 weeks pregnant and was hoping for a good night's sleep away from her two kids is in the bed next to me with a pillow over her head to block the noise.
