Learning to Love Miss Silvia
So, a couple of months ago, Michael finally caved and did something he's wanted to do for quite a while now. He brought the sweet, slick Miss Silvia into our home.
This was a total splurge, but we love lattes, and, well, we love shiny things. And electronic things.
Miss Silvia and I took a while to become friends. She is a complicated lady. You need to coerce her into getting hot. She likes ample time to warm up, and she thrives if you secretly turn on the steam heater for just a bit when you really just want espresso. And the foaming part? That's even more complicated. You need to get the foaming wand in just the right position in the milk, moving it at just the right tempo and at just the right depth.
Whew! I'm getting hot just writing about this. ;-)
But, anyway, I have finally figured it out, and I can make perfect lattes every morning. I have learned to love Miss Silvia.
