A Small Update
I escaped the cabin for half an hour to spend some time on the wireless network at the education center here. It's been nice having a detox from the computer. Normally, I am online during every waking hour (or at least it seems that way). Pathetically, I have realized that, at home, I check my email and blogs last thing in the evening and first thing in the morning. I know that I will go right back to this when we return on Saturday, but the detox has been good for me. No TV, no computer. Dylan colors with her buddies and plays games in the common room before bed. It's nice up here. So peaceful.
Some big news - we got our first ever offer on the house. Unfortunately, it was such a joke of an offer that we didn't even counter. We just said, "thanks but no thanks." Actually, my response was much more coarse. My realtor translated to make it more polite. I think I said, "Tell them to fuck off." Not only was their offer offensively low, but they wanted it contigent on them selling their house - IN OUR SAME NEIGHBORHOOD. Oh, and their house, which is not as nice, and 1000 square feet less, will be listed for $249. We're at $209. And they offered $185, and wanted us to pull it off the market for SIX MONTHS while they tried to sell their house. I believe they might be crack smokers. Because, really, I see no other explanation.
I'm glad I was away when this all transpired, because I was able to handle it better. I handled it in a zen way. ha.
OK, I think I'm going to go read or knit or just stare out at the lake. My knees and right thigh are terribly sunburned and the computer heat isn't helping much.
I'll be back in action on Saturday, and I haven't forgotten the recipes I owe you. Feel free to send me any other requests as well. I'm ready to get writing again!!
